| The college of Genitourinary Physicians of Sri Lanka was formed on 7th October 1995. In 1998 the name of the college was changed to the College of Venereologists of Sri Lanka. The college was named Sri Lanka College of Venereologists in October 2008. |

The College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka |
| Workshops and live demonstrations are part and parcel of the education programmes conducted by the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka. However due to logistical and other reasons, many of these are centered around the main cities of the country. The intention of this new programme is to take the training to the hospital environment where the regional surgeons are currently practicing. |

| There were no formal classes held to impart legal education at that time. The then system required that a period of apprenticeship be served under a practicing lawyer and the taking of certain examinations conducted by the Judges of the Supreme Court to satisfy the Judges that the apprentice had acquired sufficient legal knowledge to practise law. Consequently, the Law College was established to administer a formal course of study in preparation of persons for admission to the profession. |
